I hope to get some time soon to continue on the fist ali battery box and start then with the second one.
My work is unfortunately taking a lot of my time at the Moment.

Zur Zeit wünschte ich, mehr Zeit zu haben.
Die Arbeit in der firma nimmt mich zur Zeit voll in Beschlag.

Au moment j'ai trop de boulot å l'entreprise et je ne trouve pas le temps à continue avev le battery boxes en alu.

First Ali CS:L Battery Box

today i could weld on my first battery box and eliminate too big roundings or not perfectly welded areas.

because my brother was welding before with the tig welder, the gas bottle is empty now. but one battery box is 95% ready:
so refilling tomorrow (bottle changing against a full one) and work stop on the second box.

R2-T4 and Classic VW Beetle

two classics; my restored 67 beetle in the back, standing on classic porsche 914 fuchs alloy wheels on 165/80/15 in front and 206/70/15 in the rear.
the motor is a 1200ccm with a set of dual solex 34 pci carbs. exhaust is a 4 in 1 modified dual quiet pak

and my 2014 r2-t4 is a 1980´s star wars version, made with a senna frame, woodden legs, ali outer feet, steel center foot and styrene skins. the dome can be turned, utility arms can be openend, the doors stay closed and the technical parts are dismantled for my new ali r2-d2.  (wiring harnesses are missing on the pic)

TIG Welding

yesterday i could weld with my new TIG welder for the first time!
i never had done this before, so some adjustments had to be made to get the best welding results.
i made some first tests on welding without additional ali material. works great!!

here is the first CS:L ali battery box i welded (not yet grinded):

voilà les premiers essays de souder avec ma nouvelle machine de soudage TIG! après d´avoir ajusté tout, ca marche vraiment bien! vous vouyez mon premier battery box en alu, version CS:L.

hier seht ihr meine erste CS:L alu battery box aus alu; die habe ich nach einigen einstellungen des schweißgerätes super hinbekommen. und das sogar fast ohne zusatz.
mal sehen, ob nach dem verschleifen nicht vielleicht doch was zusätzlich auf die kanten aufgeschweißt werden muss...

CS:L Outer Ankle with bearings

here you can see my freshly built and fine sandblasted steel outer ankle with an open tubing for two bearings. the open tubing is together with a hollow screw a perfect hide for the motor cables that leads to the outer feet e-drive.

Hier seht ihr meinen frisch bestrahlten cs:l outer ankle. Er hat eine offene Buchse und zwei Kugellager, durch die eine hohlschraube läuft. Dadurch wird unsichtbar das Kabel bis zum Elektromotor des fusses geführt.
Le voilà mon CS:L ankle ext.. Fraiche sablé, avec une tube ouverte, deux roulements et un boulon banjo pour cacher les cables pour le moteur invisible.

Early Octagon Ports

heute kamen die frühen octagon ports (aus einem älteren run) an. kein zoll, kein hohen shipping costs! denn die kamen aus holland, also quasi umme ecke bei mir. :)
