Only a short time

....of 8 days and i suffered again....this time with strong pain in my lower vertebrae area.

Laying in my bed, not able to get out of it...two hours and some stronger pills against the pain and i was able (with help) to get out of it. Next morning to the doc. It was already painful to get in and out of the car, but i made it.

One hour of waiting, two röntgen pics, one failed attempt to get me mobilized by turning my upper and lower body part in different  directions and two injections in my 'gluteus maximus' (yes, google it!) later, i drove home, bought some pills against the pain and went to bed.

Another delay of almost two weeks.

Started working real slow, taking care of my movements. Almost two weeks later a Sinusitis caught me and it took me four days to recover. 

Not a nice thing to finish the year...

Surgery

 after the surgery my body is recovering more and more to normality.

but i still have to keep the ball low...

first day at work working with 50%...well i am trying it at least...

It must have been good!

facts must have been very good!

a big number of builders were there on the r2 builders booth.

and there were numerous droids too! 

hope to get there next year with daughter miriam and / or my wife.

FACTS in Gent

 this weekend starts the well known con in belgium. 

 

unfortunately i can´t go there this weekend. 

i am still injured, the operation at the hospital was done a little more than a week ago and i have to keep calm, don´t have to move too much, better stay on the sofa, watching amazon prime or netflix series or films!

so i can go there in the next year. hoping to bring my droids there in spring of 2023 and meet good friends.

Obi Wan Shirt

my wife found a star war shirt with obi wan kenobi on it...

but... (there is always a "but"...)

it must have been made by some independant illustrator...it more looks like german comedian dieter hallervorden!

My Buddy Frank was already waiting too long for his skirt.

So i finished the last works on it.

Chap is waiting too, so i need to hurry now!

Radar Eye from Spain

my spanish friends already sent me ana aluminium radar eye a year ago.

the part was fantastic and i decided to order another one, because the first run was full.

unfortunately the second run was filling up a little bit slower, so i had to wait months for the second one.

but now it is here!

Unboxing R7 Skins

i didn´t even found the time, to unbox the skins that i got from spain.

but next week there will be an update on that. 

meanwhile i will continue my summer vacation from thursday until sunday. (but before that i have to work for my customers at these high temperatures! not that nice... 😓 )

The second foot is already done.

They got some of my son's mandalorian costume parts for Keanu. I will build some new sheets for him.

it took a very long time to wait, but it was worth the waiting time!

The last parts

Finishing the last parts for my spanish Buddy takes longer, than expected.

My normal Work and two simultanous Car restorations are taking all my time at the Moment.

But today i thought to get finished the last two parts. The Support bracket for the Center foot and the second outer foot.

While i was welding, the Gas bottle got empty. 

But i could Finish the bracket. Tomorrow i will Drive to the Gas bottle Shop to get a full bottle in exchange for the empty one.

 

A fathersday present

here it is already welded and putty was applied for a perfect surface finish...

A driven Droid

Michel, the Admin of Droid builders Europe, asked me to build a driveable Droid for the next event at FACTS. The last two times i went there with static droids, but now it is time to show a driven one.

Let me see, what i have...

An ali Droid frame, Drive motors, Drive frame prototypes, two Controllers for the motors...

 

And what i don't have...

Batteries, legs, ankles, feet, battery boxes...

Okay, i have the base...and i can build the legs, ankles, battery boxes and feet.

Let's go! October is coming quick...

O-LT at FACTS

I almost finished the Droid for FACTS. A holo projector was missing, as well some smaller body parts...

Here a picture from saturday morning at FACTS in Gent, Belgium half an hour before the doors were opened.

 

BD-1 assembly

From the Computer Game Jedi-Fallen Order is this tiny Droid, i made with my two 3d printers.

and michel forced me to build a driven r2 for the next event in october...here is the base; an aluminium frame, a r3 transparent head...
 

Colour on tle legs

The second leg still needs a paint scheme.

To get everything better done, i transported the utility droid to my Shop. Here i have all tools and technical components to get everything fixed and finished soon.

Glueing time

the only thing i could do on O-LT the last days was checking the whole build to see what was still missing. 

the second thing was to check my store for the right parts, materials and other stuff to get this build done!

so i glued the side covers with a special plastic glue.

they are not 100% accurate in size, but for me it is ok!

next is to build the shoulder rings from scratch. i made a template in plastic (from a bottle) for this (see picture) and transfer the dimensions to a more rigid plastic tubing which is thicker. the tubings will be covered with a silver decal, that i will get from my brother-in-law.

O-LT

Currently i am doing another Droid. It is O-LT from this Star Wars book.

I have it done for around 75%, so still a lot to do on it.

Concentrating...

 ...on other stuff the R2 parts at the Moment.

Currently i am building up a 1970 VW Beetle... New Chassis Floor Pans, mediablasting everything, a Primer Job, a Paint job ... A lot of Work... Here already with a new Front axle and Tons of parts laying on the Chassis, that have to bei built onto the Chassis or the Body...

Behind my Chassis is standing another 1970 Beetle Chassis, that i made for a customer.

Next FACTS in Gent

we just got good news from michel from belgium! he is planning to do another display booth at facts for the r2 builders.

therefore i must finish my next droid O-LT.

and D-O and BB-8 must be repaired. they got some damages from the transport back home from the last trip to belgium/netherland.

still a lot to do!

Printing some new parts

no r2 related parts, before you ask!

the ender 3 pro will print some new lightsaber parts for my oldest daughter miriam, playing the character of rey in star wars episode 7-9.

she has several costume versions, so she needs several lightsabers. the last lightsaber she needs is the one, that she made by herself after the killing of the emperor.

a new year means a lot of new work, new challenges.
