The next parts are printing...

One set of feet

Just finished...one Set of lightweight Steel feet...

Parts order

i just ordered some parts on the bay...

a little arduino nano to get the lighting in th rear of the head just like in the game and four units of led boards (8x8) that should fit inside it.
all together for around 12 euros.

Hyper Drive Arm parts

The Hyper Drive Arm part files i got are from another R2 builder. He built the parts by scratch. What a work! so tiny bits and pieces...
The pdf´s he sent me had to be changed to dxf, stp and stl files. A friend of mine helped me with that. To see, if the parts will fit nicely and the function is ok, i intended to print them as 3d parts. here is a view of them on the creality slicer:

Here they are. Not a perfect print, but they are OK for a first assembly...

I am still waiting for the remaining parts, that are still on the printer...

Printing progress

Slightl starting problems with the print, but.now it looks good. Some.more two hours of printing and we will see...

When everything works good, i will let the parts get CNC fabricated and lasercut.

Smaller parts

some of the smaller parts were quickly printed.

the head for bd-1 was printed perfect!

i am very happy!

next are the following parts for the head and hips:

A long print

the head for bd-1 is almost printed now. when i will come home, it must be finished i think.

next on the agenda are several other body parts, luckily smaller and not so time consuming as the head print.

Next part for BD-1

Today we will start a 14 hours print of the head.
My son prepared the file and we figured out the best was to get it printed.

Second attempt

It worked better now. The first part for my.BD-1 Droid is printed now.

Printing fail

my son was too lazy! he "forgot" to make the right adjustments of the printer bed and the filament was irritated and ruined the print...
he aborted the 42 hours print after almost 4 hours...and printed another part for hisself...i was really pissed!!

time to take him the printer away! or buy another one for myself...so i can do and print what i want...until now it´s a father and son printer. we shared the costs...

Corona holidays or...the BD-1 Challenge

Having at least three more weeks of vacation due to the Corona Virus (schools are closed), my son has some time now to prepare the files for BD-1, the little chicken like droid from the Star Wars game "Fallen Order".

Here we started the first batch of parts...
