I had three tubings of stainless Steel left.
The second got some fine glassblasting to get a more roughly surface for a better grip.
My buddy Thommy Fontana put the first one onto his lathe and made some grooves into it:
In the end they made some wider and deeper grooves for me:

Laserswords
Next step on the 3d lasersword print; after two coats of grey primer, it is looking like this:
next step was to paint some dull black on the lower part of the sword:
After this, the Fake Rubber parts are masked and three coats of chrome silver found their way onto the sword's surface. Meanwhile i started another build; made out of a crappy stainless steel tube. I found some aluminium pieces in the trash metal box and formed a switch for the sword. Some masking tape and blue metallic paint later they looked like this:
Here a pic of both sword's:

In between...
...i realized some quick builds;
i had some stainless steel tubings left.
the first one is for a friend of mine. she is doing a more or less unknown star wars character, something between sith and jedi...
so here is an early version of her lightsaber:
the other lightsaber is a 3d printed version of darth vader/anakin skywalker.
this one is for my oldest daughter, who is actually preparing her episode 9 rey costume. Here she is primering her 3d printed lasersword:

D-O almost finished
my d-o droid is almost finished now...
now some more weathering, and changing some colors to the right scheme, assembling the cables and the latches...a lot of "finetuning"...

Lightsword and Nerf Blaster
i am working on a quick build for a friend; a small lightsword and two tiny nerf blasters have to be painted, welded, grinded, etc...
here some pics...dismantling, removing decals, sanding...
then a primer job. left the basic supermarket nerf, right the freshly primered half of the blaster and the detail parts...
here freshly painted in dull black, in the front i added an aluminum stripe
now some more minor detailing and an aging effect...
now to the Lightsword...
i had a small diameter stainless steel tube on stock...and a normal steel stube, some ali blocks...
what could i do with that...??
this !!!😋
to be continued...

Down under files
the files i got for the booster covers weren´t as thought from JAG, they were from ian from australia.
the files were great, ian did an outstanding job!
but they were not useful to get them machined as cnc parts, because they were stl files, so only for 3d printers.
my cnc buddy told me, that he has to completely redo all the files from scratch to make stp files out of it, which was nearly impossible, because he only had polygons instead of start and finishing points, no radius, no real length or diameter.
but in the end he made it!! a very time consuming job for him!! thanx to all that were involved in the production of these parts!!

Booster Cover
the booster cover must be cut. ther eis no other possibility, because nobody is doing a three sections version of it for the booster kit.
cut one; the upper part:
pic will follow
cut two; the lower part(s):
pic will follow
here i made a mistake i think; they are cut at the wrong point...
pic will follow
but nevertheless the sliding of the parts to get hidden in the ankle works.
video will follow
let´s see, how much place is left for the booster rocket...

A box full of fun and joy !!
i got the majority of parts for the ali booster box kits:
a quick assembly to see if everything works fine together...
the screws aren´t the correct ones. i will change them asap.
now i am waiting for the remaining parts; the slider mechanism.
