First Chromtrooper Ali parts

okay, the building proccess has begun!

i made two templates from the hand cover. mild ali, 1,5 mm thickness. maybe not the best to test it, but a beginning. it´s been looking a bit ugly.. maybe i use a thicker material? 2-2,5 mm?? so i have some more material to polish off!! LOL

A new toy...

...not a new hope!!

i finally found some time to assemble my newest acquisition. an english wheel.

most of you will not know what this is.

so here is a pic of it fully assembled:

it will be very helpful in creating my ali armor for my captain phasma costume...

by using different wheels, the big one flat, the other smaller one rounded in different shapes down to a flat version, you can smooth or round metal sheets to the desired form and shape. 

i took an anodized ali sheet to get my first experience in handforming it to a rounded version, e.g. the upper leg cover...

Not that easy...

...as thought. the assembly of the blaster will certainly take a big amount of time.
and i have to change it into the captain phasma version. this means, to cut off a section under the trigger.
but before that, i will make some silicon moulds to get spare resin parts in case of damage of parts.

some of the blaster parts will be send to a good friend to get them silver nitrate painted. this will give the chrome look.

i think i am still in my time schedule for episode 9 with the captain phasma costume...

the blaster parts are finally here now!

they are looking really good! it was a very good decision to order them at 3DpropsNL.

the building instruction are downloaded from their facebook page now, too.

More files, more possibilities

i put a question into a forum on facebook and received quite quickly the desired infos and links to the files from several uk builders! thanx buddies!

with these infos there is really a good chance on getting the rocket booster kit professionally done.

so more later! it certainly will take some longer time to create all the files in dxf.

Two days ago i got the shoes from england for my Phasma costume.



And yesterday I received a message from Eelco, that the 3d printed Blaster is on it's way to me from the netherlands.

one thing i was writing in my last post here.
and the unexpected happened; i got ill.
but now, after a few days, i feel better now, running on 75%.
time to get the work done!

maybe going on with the prototypes of my feet drives? i still don´t know!
we will see, what time will bring...
