Round Panels

the round panels have been finished now. they are all sanded and primered.

but i think i have to make some precision work on the edges, that will be connected to the triangles.

one of them is not so good (a resin version), so i decided to use this one as the bottom part.

and again i have to add some more putty for a better surface... tiny little bubbles and holes on their surface.

The Good and the Bad...Triangles

having made several triangles now...

3d printed, with some mistakes on the surface and a resin version with a lot of air bubbles and due to a quick build mold not so good details...

so the decision was clear. printing in 3d.

so almost all of them were done now, with sanding and adding a filler/primer already...

the new short version of the nurse droid.

seems logic... NuRS3 (the four letter version)

Princess Amidala

my oldest daughter is almost ready with her princess amidala arena scene costume...
she´s gotta do some minor changes to it but the main thing on it has been done!

the next charity event can come! only 13 days left!

Two more printed parts

the triangle parts for the nurse droid, that i made with a silicone mold, weren´t as nice as i expected them. a lot of sanding, adding putty to the surface, sanding again, primering...a little bit too much work for a not so good finish...

here they are with freshly applied bondo:

so i made another set of two triangles with the printer:

not perfect either! but way less work to do on them as on the other ones!
ok, two more to go now! will it be finished until the pentecost weekend for the red cross charity event?
there is still so much to do on it!!

Left eye

in my case right eye!
because of a vice versa print of the dome, the tiny little eye is on the right side of the radar eye of my nurse droid.

yesterday i printed both small eyes. they look the same, but they aren´t. their outer diameters are different.

here test mounted to the dome.

next is to paint it and glue it into the opening.

I printed the two eyes for the Nurse Droid..

Bondo on triangles

due to issues with the resin and the tiny little air bubbles in the surface of almost every casted part, i had to sand them, clean them with pressurized air and fill the holes with bondo/putty.

this doesn´t look very nice in the beginning, but in the end they will be smooth on the surface.

Several resin parts

The parts are made. Now finishing work on them like applying Bondo, sanding and primering.

Next silicone mold

For the circular anel a new mold was necessary...

Simple lego bricks were used for that.

The hole was a little too small, so there was air in the mold.... i filled up
the hole with Resin. On the pic above you can see the first Cast of the original 3d Print.

Next disaster !!

After having Trouble with the Last Print, i thought it would be better in the next Part.
So i tried out the round panels of the Nurse Droid.

The print Files seemed to be incorrect, because the was the Part was printed, begann very strange.
It ended in a little orinting disaster..again!

I think i have to Check the Files now...

Disaster !

After 2/3rd of the print, one of the two triangles felt down from it's support!!!
After checking this, i saw, that there was almost no connection between it and the rest of the triangle.
So i aborted the print. I had enough and will build two moulds from silicone and make the Training six in resin!
