Here is a closer look:
...i didn't know that i have that much R2 Parts.
And these aren't by far all the parts i have...there was simply mit enough space to show them...
The Work on the 1,5 mm Ali battery Box is harder, than i thought.
Bending, forming...all harder..but the welding is easier!
After the first of the two boxes i decided to do something else.
So i started another skirt in Ali. Here some of the parts, that.needed to be rounded
And the welding is almost done:
Another set of Ali Sheets needs my attention.
These are way harder to form and to bend.
But it worked...
Battery Box one during the forming and welding process...
my last order at the lasercutter was a set of steel sheets for a set of battery boxes in 1 mm thickness.
i was working on a support part for the center ankle. this ali part was one of a few done in 6 mm thickness.
pic will follow
i had to add some threads into the sides to get it attached to the ankle like this:
pic will follow
but...as you know there is always a "but"... shit happened. after managing to get two threads without problems into it, the bit broke and got stuck in the ali part. no way to get this out... damn´ !!
so i had to order a new one (plus a second as spare) at my waterjetcutter.
when they are produced, i´ll show you a pic of them!
i have a customer in my enterprise for mediablasting knowing that i am a star wars fan.
he contacted me yesterday having a small surprise for me, that the had already sent the day before.
i was very happy to get this from him:
thanx for this fantastic surprise!
the next parts i will build is a set of ankles in steel.
here you can see a bunch of lasercut metal sheets for several ankles...
first of all i will start with the center ankle. here are all the affordable parts to build it:
a fine layer of bondo has been added to the surface of the shoulder areas of both legs:
pic will follow
after the sanding process everything is looking good and i can primer the parts in light grey!
more on that later!!
some more progress on the lightweight steel legs.
i could finish the metal work on the second leg now.
the light grey one is already mediablasted, the other one still has to be mediablasted.
then i will add minimal putty/bondo to the shoulder rounding and some spots here and there.
more on that later...
