the new printed helmet for sarah is not yet finished, but bigger in size than the first one.
now some gluing and it is done!
this is the way!
another day, another try.
my brother changed some codings in the datas he got from me. these were horrible. (not my fault, i got them via thingiverse)
after two more attempts that he stopped right in the beginning, where he had to change the slicer software, everything worked fine now.
...a new Hope
The helmet size of the printed one was a tiny little bit too small.
The printer bed was too small, so the helmet has to be printed in sections.
This morning a first view on the printer showed some problems pretty close to the end of the print time...
Maybe i can use the parts by gluing them together and fill up the gaps with fiberglass bondo??
my brother printed a brandnew helmet for me.
this one is for the niece of my buddy thomas.
she wants to make a whole new costume, but a budget version.
instead of buying a chinese made 200 euro helmet, i persuaded her to take a way cheaper printed 3d version.
this print was done in almost 24 hours.
the old helmet from my son has changed the owner. jürgen´s son keanu got it together with the full red, silver and green armor.
i got it back to paint a new color scheme...and started with a light grey primer after having masked it:
some more masking later a silver metallic base coat:
after that a dull black line, with some spots and chips, made with toothpaste.
then again some masking for the sides:
Okay, taking some measurements from Keanu has been done some weeks ago on a Troop.
It took some time to get the forex Sheets and time, to realize the build.
But i couldn't use the original patterns from Chris, because Keanu is smaller. So i had to scale it down.
Here are some pics of the work from this day...
.
After making the drying process of the paint a little quicker by using an industrial hot air blower First parts are ready....
And here is the majority of the parts in all its glory...
today i will create another set of mandalorian armor parts for the son of a good friend.
I made an armor some years ago for my son...
i can´t use the standard cutting patterns, because his son is not an adult, so i have to scale it down to his size.
i hope this will fit in the end...
here are the first sheets of forex for the build:
I will keep the design close to the one of chris, who is doing a great work for the mandalorian costume scene. Here is a pic of his parts:
