I can't find the right boxes. Neither in dimensions, nor in shape and design.
The boxes i am actually using are a little bit too big.
And the plastic is not that sturdy as expected, because it broke very quick.
I will keep my eyes open for another set of boxes...
Meanwhile i am looking for cool greeblies that can be used on the GNK droid.

I cut out the first big hole in one side and put the first greeblies into it...

well, after my wrecker costume is ready, i already have thougts and ideas for a new droid.
the GNK droid, or gonk droid, is the next one i will build.
because there is no plan how to build one, i first of all purchased two plastic boxes.
in a shop around the corner i found some parts or accessories to get this thing done and give him a little industrial look.
but these parts are only the beginning...
i need much more stuff to create something that looks like it could work and must have a function.
tubings, pipes, connectors, old parts from cameras or other technical equipment...

I don't know why and how, but i managed to find some time to build some Aluminium parts.
The first one is an outer foot. This was already done by me up to 90 %, but i had to reweld it on some spots. Now this is done and i just need to add a little bit of bondo here and there. Then some sanding and i can add some light grey primer to it.
The second one is a battery box in Aluminium.
I built another one some months ago, which was ready for primer, then i started the opposite one. But i made a mistake and made the same side again. Yesterday i started a new one. And this time it was the right side!
Now some sanding and i can directly put some primer on it.
Testing and trying what is possible with the Wrecker costume...

The second thing missing on the costume were two small boxes on the chest.
These will be printed too these days from my brother.
I hope to get them right in time before Facts next week on thursday.
It's because i have to primer and paint as well weather it before gluing it to the chest ring.
The work on the Backpack continues.
Part one of the weathering is done now.
Now some areas need some red paint.
And zap, done!!
On the visible outer side of the backpack is a sign of Clone unit 99.
I first made a 2 mm rounded sheet of styrene and wrapped an adhesive car vinyl over it in which i handpainted the Logo.
I wasn't pleased with the result and after some checking of internet pictures of 1:6 scale figures i saw that it is not only a flat disc, but a dish.
I made a drawing for my brother so that he can print it with his megafast 3d Bamboo printer.
It should be already finished by now.
This color type was applied to the surface of the backpack.
But first of all i used my special technique of weathering the surface...
The glue for the plastic parts disn't work well.
The kinda lookalike boom boxes fell of during the primering of the Backpack.
Luckily i bought paint, primer and another glue yesterday so that i could fix the problem easily.
Mal sehen, ob ich das Backpack vom Wrecker Kostüm noch vor dem 21.10 fertig bekomme.
Da das ganze teilemäßig ja schon echt ne Nummer ist und auch noch andere Sachen nach Belgien zur Facts mit müssen, werde ich wohl zwischen dem Parkplatz und den Messehallen mehrfach hin und her pendeln müssen, um alles da rein zu bekommen...
R2-T4 soll dieses Jahr ja auch mal mit...
