i am planning to sell almost all of my r2 related stuff.
to be honest; i don´t find the time to work on my r2 units.
times have changed and i am doing more vintage aircooled volkswagen restorations than anything else.
so i will offer a lot of my parts the next weeks.

Due to missing space i couldn't transport my R2-T4 to a local cinema yesterday.
I instead filled up my old VW Beetle with loads of my Wrecker costume and my beautiful daughter Miriam for a troop in a local Cinema showing Episode 3 of Star Wars.
It was a fantastic day with happy faces everywhere. We had great fun there!!For todays event at our local cinema i had to put all Wrecker costume parts into my VW Beetle.
The reason is, that the bus was out of order!
Three days ago we had an incident with it on a highway 50 km away from home, while coming back from our easter holiday. The car had to be towed to my preferred local garage.
unfortunately the hubs i ordered from my cnc shop came a little bit too small.
they made an error while milling them.
but with some small spacers it is possible to use them as some with the original size.
a french builder told me that. lucky me! i thought i could throw them away...
a french builder asked me for a coin slot in ali.
years ago i had a stock of them of about 10 or 20, but over the years they were all given away to r2 builders around the globe.
time to build a new bunch of them...shall i ??
I have to prepare the three ankles for shipping to the UK.
A good packaging is affordable!

Yesterday i started the first Ali ankle for Lee.

The actual situation; i started on the first outer ankle:
you see the little notch on the left side? this is the changed version that lee wanted to have. of course there will be the same from the counterpart plus a strip welded in. in case he doesn´t want to have it this way, it can be cut off easily.
some of the parts weren´t changed in their construction as i wished to have them. so i had to visit the metal shop again to explain all the wanted changes on them.
today was the day of picking up the two last parts.

on saturday i can start assembling and welding all the parts.
as i checked the welding machine, i spotted an almost empty role of welding wire.
so i immediately ordered a new one that arrived yesterday!

due to a short machine stop of the lasercutter (technical problems), i had to wait a few more days.
but now the parts are here and i can begin the work on them!

lee needed my help.
he asked for a set of ali ankles for his droid.
tomorrow i will drive to the metal shop to show my buddy there the desired design changes from lee.
he will change the files for me and get them lasercut in a short time.
i will do the welding and grinding of the parts and hope that this will go easy and quick.
Luckily i bought a rounding machine for metal sheets for up to 1,5 mm thickness.
With that u could relatively easy round the skins for astromech units.
